THE STORY

SRC is a family-run winery founded in 2013 on the northern side of Mount Etna. The name comes from Sandra, Rori and Cinzia Parasiliti, whose initials form SRC. The project started when Rori bought an old-vine parcel in Contrada Crasà near Solicchiata, initially as a place for the family to make wine for themselves.

With encouragement from Cinzia and Sandra, the project gradually expanded. Today, the family works several vineyards across Etna’s northern districts, while keeping the estate strongly rooted in its original family character.

THE VINEYARDS

SRC farms parcels in areas including Crasà, Barbabecchi, Calderara Sottana, Pirao and Rivaggi, spread around Castiglione di Sicilia and Randazzo. The vineyards sit at different elevations and on lava flows of different ages, giving each site its own identity.

Many vines are between fifty and one hundred years old and are trained in the traditional alberello style. Nerello Mascalese is central to the reds, sometimes joined by Nerello Cappuccio and Grenache, while Carricante and Grecanico form the base of the white wines.

IN THE CELLAR

Most vineyard work is done by hand, and the cellar approach remains restrained. Fermentations begin spontaneously, with concrete used for much of the production and oak reserved for selected wines.

Individual parcels are often vinified separately, allowing the differences between sites to remain visible in the finished wines. The labels, designed by Cinzia, also reflect the family’s connection to Etna, using flowing forms inspired by lava and the mountain itself.
