PERSONAL TASTING NOTES

A clear and fruit-driven Pinot Noir from Kaiserstuhl with ripe red berries, dark cherry and a hint of cacao. Warm, smooth and precise, with enough depth while still staying easy to drink.

VINIFICATION METHOD

Pinot Noir from southwest-facing volcanic sites in Kaiserstuhl. The grapes are harvested slightly overripe and fermented in open oak vats for around two weeks with daily punch-downs. The wine is pressed shortly before the end of fermentation, then aged for eight months in oak barrels. Unfined and unfiltered.

MEET THE WINEMAKER

RASPINI

Raspini is a tiny family-run winery in the Kaiserstuhl, founded by Roberto and Sonja Raspini. Roberto grew up in Sicily and later studied viticulture and oenology in Sicily and Andalusia before eventually settling in Baden. Together with Sonja, he released the first Raspini vintage in 2021.

Working at a very small scale allows them to stay closely involved in every part of the process, from pruning and vineyard work to harvest, cellar work and bottling. Each wine is shaped directly by their own hands rather than by a larger production structure.
