PERSONAL TASTING NOTES

Fresh and mineral, with ripe orchard fruit, a light honeyed touch and bright acidity. Clean and lively on the palate, with a soft fruity character and a refreshing mineral finish.

VINIFICATION METHOD

100% Chenin from 20–45-year-old vines in Cheillé and Lignières-de-Touraine, planted on stony silt over flint clay. The grapes are hand-harvested, directly pressed and settled before fermentation in tank with indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally, followed by 6 months of ageing on the lees in tank. The wine is unfined and unfiltered.

MEET THE WINEMAKER

BARIOU-BODET

Jennifer Bariou and Thibaut Bodet started their domaine in 2015 in Azay-le-Rideau, in the heart of the Loire Valley. After gaining experience in wineries abroad, they settled in the region with around two and a half hectares and gradually expanded the estate to roughly eight hectares.

Today, their vineyards are spread between Cheillé, Lignières-de-Touraine and Azay-le-Rideau, giving them access to a broad mix of sites, vine ages and exposures.
