PERSONAL TASTING NOTES

Juicy and fruit-driven, with blackcurrant and strawberry at the front. Light tannins, fresh acidity and a soft, easy flow make it very drinkable both on its own and with food.

VINIFICATION METHOD

A blend of 50% Grolleau, 35% Cabernet and 15% Gamay from 25–80-year-old vines in Cheillé and Lignières-de-Touraine. The grapes are hand-harvested and manually destemmed in wicker destemmers. Each variety ferments separately with indigenous yeasts, with 10 days of gentle infusion-style maceration, then the wines are blended after fermentation. Unfined and unfiltered.

BARIOU-BODET

Jennifer Bariou and Thibaut Bodet started their domaine in 2015 in Azay-le-Rideau, in the heart of the Loire Valley. After gaining experience in wineries abroad, they settled in the region with around two and a half hectares and gradually expanded the estate to roughly eight hectares.

Today, their vineyards are spread between Cheillé, Lignières-de-Touraine and Azay-le-Rideau, giving them access to a broad mix of sites, vine ages and exposures.
